Community & trust
A good place to be curious.
AI Commons is for people who want to learn, build and think together. Help us make room for everyone.
These expectations guide the membership pilot. The private reporting contact and response process will be published before public registration opens.
Welcome people as they are
People arrive with different backgrounds, experiences and levels of confidence. Be kind, make introductions, explain unfamiliar language, and leave space for people who are still finding their voice.
Discrimination, harassment, intimidation and unwanted attention have no place here. Respect people's identity, culture, accessibility needs and personal boundaries.
Be curious. Disagree with care.
Questions about ethics, safety, work, policy and impact are part of the conversation. Challenge ideas thoughtfully, listen to lived experience, and assume there is something useful to learn.
Critique the idea without attacking the person. Don't dismiss someone because they are new to AI or because their view differs from yours.
Respect what people share
Ask before photographing people, sharing their work or repeating something shared in confidence. Don't publish another person's contact details or personal information without their permission.
Give credit, be honest about your work, and be clear when sharing an AI-generated example. Keep promotion relevant and low pressure.
Help look after the community
If something feels uncomfortable or someone needs help, speak to the event organiser. An organiser may pause a conversation or ask someone to step away to keep the space welcoming.
At an event, speak privately to an organiser about a concern. The membership website does not currently accept reports. Before public registration opens, we will publish a private reporting contact, explain who can access reports, and describe how concerns and appeals are handled.
The agreement when you join
Agreeing means you will follow these expectations in AI Commons spaces and events, and respect reasonable requests from organisers. We want a community where people feel comfortable contributing and returning.
